The television star recalled asking his urologist whether the cancer would kill him. "He said no, I will be buying Christmas presents for many years to come," Mr Davro said.
"That made me cry because it was such a relief."
Mr Davro's cancer journey began when his GP noticed his prostate was enlarged during an examination.
A subsequent PSA test returned a reading of 24, which the comedian described as "not good at all."

When asked whether he experienced any warning signs prior to his diagnosis, Mr Davro admitted there were few indicators.
"Not really. The only thing I had was erectile dysfunction. I can say that, can't I?" he told the programme.
During his This Morning appearance, the comedian highlighted that prostate cancer affects a significant proportion of the male population.
"I think one in eight men get it. Coming in today, the man that picked me up in the car from Waterloo he had it," Mr Davro noted.

He also drew attention to the elevated risk faced by certain groups.
"I think a lot of men of colour, they get more prostate cancer, so it's got to be checked," he said, reinforcing his message about the importance of regular screening.
Mr Davro's cancer diagnosis comes after a difficult period in his personal life.
Three years ago, his fiancée Vicky Wright passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The comedian has also faced his own health struggles, having suffered a stroke two years ago.
Despite these challenges, the actor appears to be in a positive frame of mind about his recovery.
"I think I'm alright now," he told The Andrew Eborn Show while discussing his stroke.
