GB News' Bev Turner has taken to social media platform X to express her dismay at public figures advocating for a boycott of the upcoming World Cup.
Bev wrote that she found it difficult to witness people she holds in high regard appearing to base their views solely on mainstream media coverage.
"Ahh man.... I can't bear this... Now people I respect are lining up to demonstrate that they're only reading the @bbc @LBC headlines about America and @POTUS," she posted.
She went on: "It's truly painful to see this shallow misunderstanding."

Bev's comments came in direct response to comedian John Bishop, who had voiced his intention to shun the tournament entirely during a conversation with Absolute Radio.
"My feeling is boycotting really honestly, I think the World Cup is a joke," Mr Bishop stated in the interview.
The Liverpool-born comedian expressed particular concern over FIFA's decision to honour the US President with an award, arguing it had damaged the sport's integrity.
"I think FIFA giving Donald Trump a big rosette and a Peace Prize has undermined everything that football's about," he said.

| GB NEWSMr Bishop also raised alarm about potential entry restrictions for those wishing to attend matches in America.
"I think the fact that it's being played in a country that's threatening not to give Visas to the players, to the staff, to the fans...
"I think it's ridiculous. I think it's a complete embarrassment," he added.
Despite her criticism of the boycott movement, Bev conceded that football's governing body and its key figures were far from perfect.

The presenter also accepted that the peace prize ceremony had been poorly executed, describing the award as "a bit silly and laughable" whilst noting that journalists present in Washington DC had been subjected to unacceptable treatment in freezing conditions.
However, the presenter remained steadfast in her opposition to calls for fans to turn their backs on the tournament over political objections.
"But let's not start this 'boycott the world Cup because we don't like #trump' nonsense. Who does that benefit?.....Just causes more division," she added.
