Shocking new stats laid bare the extent of the policing crisis

Bev Turner has spoken out on a horrific burglary experience she was subject to as the “police did nothing”.

It comes as shocking new stats laid bare the extent of the policing crisis in Britain, with officers failing to solve burglaries in 48 per cent of neighbourhoods - areas consisting of 1,000 to 3,000 people - over the past three years.

Despite the police pledging to attend every domestic break-in, figures show that the number of charges made following a burglary fell from 4.6 per cent in 2022 to 3.9 per cent the following year.

Bev gave a candid first-hand account on GB News about her own experience in which “nobody was ever arrested”.

“I got burgled one night. It was just me, my mum and the children in the house”, she said.

“It was three men and two women. They came into the house, I came down in the morning and the back door was open.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

“I didn’t really question it. Then I walked into where my laundry is, there was a space my ex-husband used as a gym and it was all completely trashed.

“They were in the house for an hour-and-a-half. We didn’t hear them. Nobody was ever arrested.”

Co-host Andrew Pierce said the story is a “horrible thought”, given Bev’s home was infiltrated while she and members of her family were asleep.

Bev said she feels “lucky” that she and her family were left unharmed.

Burglaries are on the rise in Britain

“Five people were in my house for an hour-and-a-half”, she said.

“My house is not enormous by the way, I’ve made it sound like a country estate.

“Luckily, all of us were fine and unharmed.”

Pierce also recalled a personal tale on burglaries, saying he had to “hassle” the police for them to take action.

“When I was burgled about 15 years ago, they took my door down with a sledgehammer”, he said.

“It took two days to get the police to do anything about it.

“Mercifully, I was not in the house as they could have taken the sledgehammer to me.”
