Viewers believe they have worked out who will be murdered next after Harriet Tyce’s explosive roundtable meltdown

The Traitors delivered its most explosive episode yet on Wednesday night, with viewers now convinced they have worked out who will be murdered next following an “unhinged” roundtable meltdown.

Former barrister Harriet Tyce became the latest player to be banished after a disastrous confrontation that spectacularly backfired, leaving fans predicting the fallout will be felt immediately.

The 52-year-old crime author believed she had assembled compelling evidence against Traitor Rachel Duffy, presenting her case with the confidence of a seasoned courtroom advocate.

Instead of swaying opinion, her aggressive approach alienated the group entirely, with not a single contestant writing Ms Duffy’s name at the table.

Ms Tyce was voted out unanimously, and even after revealing she was a Faithful, the remaining players refused to accept that Ms Duffy had been deceiving them.

Viewers described the moment as one of the most brutal reversals in the show’s history, and the turning point that has now reshaped the game.

The episode opened with Ms Tyce confronting Traitors Ms Duffy and Stephen Libby in the chapel, correctly identifying that Ms Duffy was behind the curtain.

She demanded to know whether they would protect one of their own or allow her to be exposed.

Their response was chillingly direct: “No, take her.”

Ms Duffy later admitted the encounter had “scared the life out of me”, though she appeared composed the following morning.

At breakfast, Ms Tyce revealed her legal background and publicly named Ms Duffy as her prime suspect.

When fellow contestant Roxy Wilson defended Ms Duffy, tensions exploded.

Ms Tyce snapped: “I was not going to let another day of web weaving around me because I’ve had enough."

“I’m onto you. You should have killed me when you had the chance.”

The clash escalated when Ms Tyce repeatedly interrupted Ms Duffy, prompting Ms Wilson to intervene.

“The benefit is to set the cat among the pigeons, Roxy,” Ms Tyce said, before later mocking her in the kitchen, a moment many viewers believe sealed her fate.

Reaction online was sharply divided, but fans were united on one thing: the chaos has now exposed who is most at risk next.

“From best Faithful ever to completely unhinged in sixty minutes,” one viewer wrote, while another added: “Harriet leaving has changed everything.”

Attention quickly turned to James Baker, whose behaviour during Wednesday’s challenge left viewers convinced he had put a target on his own back.

Mr Baker secretly took a shield without telling the group, later admitting in his confessional: “It was quite selfish. It’s self-preservation.”

He initially lied when questioned, before eventually coming clean, a move that visibly irritated his fellow contestants.

He admitted: “I’ve got this bad feeling they’re going to guess who has a shield and they’re going to get me out."

Fans were quick to connect the dots.

“Haha James — banishment or murder beckons,” one viewer wrote, while another observed: “He lied when there was no heat on him at all. Massive mistake.”

Some suggested his actions may have inadvertently helped Ms Duffy by diverting suspicion away from her.

“The fact James took a shield covertly has helped Rachel massively,” one fan noted.

Crucially, viewers also picked up on information revealed earlier in the episode, when Traitors Ms Duffy and Stephen Libby identified Jessie Stride as their intended murder target.

With Mr Baker now under suspicion and Ms Stride already named, fans believe the next exit is all but inevitable.

As tensions reach boiling point, Mr Baker, Ms Stride, and Adam Waughman are widely tipped by viewers to be next out of the castle, with many now asking whether the Traitors could even accidentally murder someone protected by a shield.
