The group performed at Thursday's semi-final with their song What The Hell Just Happened?

Remember Monday took to the Eurovision stage on Thursday to perform at the competition's semi-final.
The UK, along with acts from France, Germany, Italy and Spain, immediately go through to the weekend's final because they contribute the largest financial amount to the competition.

However, the band took the opportunity to perform on the Swiss stage, with mixed responses from BBC viewers.

Formed of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, Remember Monday will be competing this weekend, representing the nation with their song, What The Hell Just Happened?

They gave an energetic performance on Thursday in Basel, Switzerland, but many were quick to point out a perceived flaw.

Taking to X, fans were divided over the entry. The song's changing rhythms, which some have likened to Queen, saw a mixed response, with some stating the number was "confusing".

"Are the UK just making up their entry on the spot? #Eurovision2025 #Eurovision," one critic asked.

Others noted their admiration for the girls' voices but doubted the song, with one writing: "They seem lovely but I just can’t get behind the song itself which is a shame #eurovision," while another added: "UK...good vocals, terrible song."

"The UK entry is just weird and confusing. Too many stops and rhythm changes. You think it’s going to be a euro pop bop and then it just stops. Not #Eurovision friendly. #UK #Eurovision2025," another commented.

Meanwhile, someone else raged: "The United Kingdom should be ashamed of this absolute garbage entry. I wish we could be voted out. #Eurovision."

Others adored the tune though, with one joking: "That's not a bad song from the UK. I'll see myself out #Eurovision."

"Good performance. #WhatTheHellJustHappened First time the UK has had a female group since Precious 1999," another pointed out.

One fan enthused: "Disney Princesses from the UK on stage now! Love it! #Eurovision." (sic)

Country pop band Remember Monday reached the quarter-final of The Voice UK in 2019 and built up a huge following.

The singers have a busy remainder of the year ahead, following Eurovision, Remember Monday are already pencilled in to perform at Latitude Festival in July and the Big Feastival in August.

Discussing their spot at this year's contest earlier this year, the band said: "'What The Hell Just Happened’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this.

"When you’re a kid and people ask you what you want to be when you grow up, an absolute classic is 'I wanna be a pop star', so the fact that we’re getting the chance to live that dream as three best friends is just wild.

"We’re going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage…

"We honestly can’t wait to experience this with all of the other incredible artists from around the world, and hopefully make everyone back at home feel proud!

"This is really the music World Cup and we’ll do our best to bring it home!"
