Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has posted a moving update about her breast cancer recovery, sharing two contrasting photographs that capture her remarkable transformation.
The professional dancer revealed a hospital image from her chemotherapy treatment, showing her connected to an IV drip without hair, alongside a recent picture taken at home wearing a brown silk dress with her blonde hair now styled in a pixie cut.
"This was me during intense, tough fortnightly chemo, and this is me now feeling happier, stronger and more confident than ever," Amy wrote.
"I'm so proud of how far I've come."
The 35-year-old is urging others affected by the disease to share their experiences using the hashtag #ThisIsMeNow, highlighting that nearly one million people in the UK are living with or beyond breast cancer.
Ms Dowden discovered a lump in her right breast in 2023 and subsequently underwent a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy sessions every fortnight.
The following year, she chose to have a second mastectomy, though she emphasised this was "not to treat a new cancer diagnosis".
The BBC One dancer has thrown her support behind Breast Cancer Now, expressing her commitment to the charity's mission.

Ms Dowden continuously campaigns for cancer awareness
|"[They] won't stop until there's a future where everyone with breast cancer lives and lives well," she said.
"Join me in supporting them until it's Breast Cancer Never."
Ms Dowden has been open about the lasting impact of her treatment, revealing in December 2025 that her hormone-fed cancer has induced early menopause, leaving her uncertain about whether she will ever be able to have children.
The dancer has pledged to dedicate the remainder of her life to cancer awareness and fundraising efforts following what she described as a "devastating blow".

The star often shares her progress after 3 years
|Speaking at the TV Choice Awards in February, Amy told the Press Association: "I never thought at 32 I would be facing a devastating blow of a breast cancer diagnosis and I want to use my platform in the right way, in the best way possible, and I will do for the rest of my life to hopefully raise awareness, raise money and hopefully save lives."
Since receiving her diagnosis, the 35-year-old has consistently documented her experience online for her 727,000 Instagram followers, determined to use her public profile to campaign for greater understanding of the disease.
Friends and admirers quickly rallied around Amy in the comments section of her post. Singer Katherine Jenkins wrote: "So proud of you Amy. You are truly amazing."

Ms Dowden has spoken candidly about the personal toll of her treatment, appearing on Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer in December 2025 to discuss her fertility concerns.
