Fans flocked to social media to share their confusion

Amanda Holden has revealed her wax double at Madame Tussauds, with the 55-year-old television and radio presenter sharing the moment with followers on social media.

The figure took half a year to complete, with a team of 15 artists working on the project.

Announcing the unveiling on Instagram, the Britain's Got Talent judge wrote: "Omg!! My wax work is done!! 6 months 15 people... Now there are two of me!! That feels like a public service warning!!!" (sic).

Admirers flooded the comments section with praise for the striking resemblance, with one remarking they initially believed she had a twin sibling.

However, not everyone was convinced by the lifelike model, with many viewers quick to question the resemblance.

Taking to Instagram, several fans shared their confusion at the look-alike.

"Am I the only one who thinks it doesn’t look like her?" one person wrote, while another added: "It’s nothing like Amanda."

"I think it looks nothing like her," a third commented, echoing the sentiment.

Another remarked: "Genuinely wouldn’t have got who it was from the face, looks like a different person."

Someone else added: "It just looks bizarre tbh" (sic).

Some even suggested the wax-work bore a closer resemblance to other celebrities.

"It looks more like Kerry Katona," one person claimed, as another added: "More like Britney Spears."

Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford spotted one notable absence from the otherwise impressive replica.

"She doesn't have your laugh but other than that... Your doppelganger!" she quipped beneath the post.

The wax figure captures the Heart Breakfast host in a gold Nadine Merabi jumpsuit, the same outfit she previously donned for Heart's Make Me a Millionaire competition.

Standing with one hand placed on her hip, the sculpture showcases her trademark stance alongside meticulously recreated hair, skin tone and eye colour.

Janine Marshall, general manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, described Ms Holden as "one of the UK's most recognisable and well-loved personalities."

Ms Holden explained that every conceivable measurement was taken.

"They scanned my body, they did my hair, my eyeballs, my skin tone - absolutely everything. And they poked me plenty!" she revealed.

While examining a selection of glass eyes for the figure, she identified what she believed to be her shade.

"I looked at a box of eyeballs and went, 'I reckon it's that one.' And the team went out into the daylight and confirmed - that's Demi Lovato's eyeball too!" she said.

The presenter snuck the figure into the Heart studios and positioned herself beside it, leaving her colleagues bewildered.

Ms Holden erupted in screams and laughter as they struggled to determine which one of her was real.

Co-presenter Jordan North confessed: "I'm freaked out. It doesn't smell like her because she usually smells quite good."

The figure will now take its place at Madame Tussauds for visitors to enjoy.
