Gordon Ramsay is reported to have taken aim at his new son-in-law’s parents during his father-of-the-bride speech at Saturday’s wedding.
According to The Sun, the celebrity chef told Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty he was a “fortunate man” before commenting on how stunning his bride looked, adding: “Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to.”
The 59-year-old then appeared to direct a barb at Adam’s absent parents, turning to his daughter and saying: “Shame you don’t have the same.”
Gordon also reportedly declared that his wife Tana “will be a good mum to them both”, a remark interpreted by members of the Peaty family as a pointed slight.

A family source responded to the speech by telling The Sun: “It just goes to show that this was the Ramsays’ plan all along. You’d think that as parents, Gordon and Tana would have a bit more compassion towards Caroline, Mark and the family.”
The swimmer’s father Mark was reportedly informed he could attend the ceremony, but only if he sat at the rear of the church behind guests’ plus-ones.
According to family sources, Adam’s sister Beth delivered the message to their father before Christmas.
“For him to turn around and tell Beth that his dad could come and sit at the back of the church is awful,” a source said.

“Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones, who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to.”
Adam’s mother Caroline, 59, spoke publicly ahead of the wedding, telling the Daily Mail: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together. My family is broken.”
In the days following the ceremony, the Olympic champion appeared to send a clear signal of allegiance to his new family by updating his social media name to “Adam Ramsay Peaty”.

The 31-year-old’s decision to incorporate his wife’s surname mirrors a move made by Brooklyn Beckham, who adopted his wife Nicola Peltz’s name after their 2022 wedding.
Brooklyn, who is reportedly estranged from his parents Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham, was notably absent from Adam and Holly’s nuptials despite his long-standing friendship with the bride.
Adam, a three-time Olympic gold medallist, married Holly Ramsay at Bath Abbey on Saturday, with more than 200 guests in attendance.
The name change comes amid an acrimonious family rift that saw almost all of Adam’s relatives excluded from the celebrations.
His parents Caroline and Mark were not invited, with only his sister Bethany attending as one of three bridesmaids alongside Holly’s sisters Megan and Tilly.
The origins of the feud reportedly date back to September 2024, when extended members of the Peaty family were excluded from the couple’s engagement celebrations.
Caroline was later left out of Holly’s hen weekend at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, despite Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham attending the lavish event.
Adam’s 73-year-old great-aunt Janet told the Mail on Sunday: “I can’t believe he’s done this to his mother, who’s done so much for him from an early age.

"To be treated like this is not kind," she continued.
The star-studded guest list at Bath Abbey included Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham with their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, broadcaster Dan Walker and Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies.
During his own speech, Adam reportedly made no reference to his parents, instead paying an emotional tribute to his swimming coach Mel Marshall.
According to reports, he described her as his “everything” and credited her with “grounding and inspiring” him throughout his career, adding that he viewed her as “like a mum”, a remark likely to sting his absent mother.
