The UK is set to be battered by rain and strong winds as the aftermath of Hurricane Humberto moves across the Atlantic.
Unprecedented conditions will hit Britain, with the Met Office warning of "Atlantic tropical cyclone activity" across areas of the UK.
The Met Office noted that "confidence" in its forecasts "remains low" due to Humberto's impact.
It stated: "Further spells of wet and windy weather are possible, more likely across northern areas, with lengthier drier spells in the south.
"Temperatures probably generally near to a little above average by day, though the possibility of chilly nights and overnight fog later on in the south."
Hurricane Humberto was initially the second Category 5 hurricane of the year after Hurricane Erin in August.
It has since been downgraded early this morning to a Category 4, boasting wind speeds of 155mph.
It is expected to make landfall over Bermuda but miss America, the US National Hurricane Centre said.

A tropical storm warning is in place for areas of the Bahamas, with evacuation orders in place.
Forecasters confirmed: "As Hurricane Humberto moves into the North Atlantic and loses its tropical characteristics.
"This will likely have an influence on the UK's weather, with the potential for wet and very windy conditions around the first weekend of October."
For the next couple of days, areas of rain or showers will be persistent over Scotland, gradually working their way northwards.
Strong winds and spells of rain will also hit northwestern areas, as the aftermath of Humberto takes its toll.
Down south, a few bands of rain or showers will move eastwards across Northern Ireland, England, and Wales, interspersed with some brighter spells.
Winds will remain light across most of the country, but stay breezier in northern Scotland.
Temperatures are expected to be around average for this time of year, at around 12 to 16C.

Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill explained that there will be "some outbreaks of rain and a few gusty winds" in the northern parts of Scotland.
Mr Burkill said there will be a "few showery bursts here and there, but also some bright sunny spells in between".
