This meteorological shift threatens to deliver widespread turbulent conditions across the UK during the opening weekend of October.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to remain close to or slightly exceed seasonal averages across the country.
However, southern regions may experience cold nights with potential fog formation during later periods, creating crisp autumn mornings.

The Met Office stated that outbreaks of rain will move eastwards across Northern Ireland and the western and southwestern parts of Scotland, potentially leading to some flooding and disruption.
Further south, the weather remains cloudy for the rest of the day, with no sunshine in the very far southeast.
It will feel warm in the sun, with highs of 18 or 19 degrees in the southeast and much of the Midlands, around average for the time of year.
Newcastle, Belfast and Glasgow are forecast to hover between 14C and 15C.
