An arctic plume is set to push low pressure across Britain which could make snow "likely" to fall within days.
Conditions are expected to become colder with temperatures dipping below zero again.
Those living in northern England and in Scotland are most likely to see heavy snowfall, according to meteorologist, James Madden from Exacta.
He said the UK could see "even greater and more significant dumps of snow across higher ground in the north".

He added that a white Christmas looked "increasingly likely" and Britons will soon see more "notable wintry blasts".
"It is now increasingly likely that we will see at least one or two notable wintry blasts from late November and into the first half of December, but it may turn milder or much milder later," Madden told LBC.
"However, a sudden stratospheric warming event from later this month and into December could change that outlook to an even colder and more wintry theme for many parts of the country."
The Met Office warns that "winter is knocking on the door" after temperatures in Altnaharra, Scotland dropped to an -6.3C overnight.

The Met Office said this was the lowest temperature of Autumn so far, which has brought sharp frosts in parts of Scotland.
This evening forecasters suggest: "Showers will become increasingly confined to northern and western coasts leaving plenty of clear spells inland.
"This will make for a chilly night with patchy fog and frost developing."
The cold chill is expected to continue into the weekend with dry but cold conditions.

A spokesperson said: "A dry, bright and chilly start to the weekend. Sunshine turning increasingly hazy with cloud thickening from the west during the afternoon though staying dry for most. Feeling chilly."
Ahead of the snow, Britons look set to be battered with rain and blustery showers early next week.
The Met Office said: "Remaining predominantly unsettled through this period with further showers or longer spells of rain for most of, if not all of the UK interspersed with some likely very brief drier interludes.
"Rainfall totals will tend to be higher across western areas of the UK, especially coasts and hills, although in general nothing exceptional for this time of year."
