Britain is set to face temperatures higher than Barcelona this weekend, with the mercury expected to soar to 27C in some parts of the country in just days.
The Met Office has forecast that London and the southeast will experience temperatures of around 24C on Sunday, while other parts of the UK could see even higher readings on Monday.
Temperature anomaly maps show that much of the country will be significantly warmer than usual for this time of year.
Some regions could experience temperatures up to six degrees higher than the seasonal average on Sunday.

This follows last week's record-breaking heat when Kew Gardens in London reached 28C, marking the warmest start to May on record.
The warm spell is expected to continue into Monday, with highs of 27C predicted for parts of the South.
The north of England and south of Scotland will also enjoy the warm weather, with temperatures reaching into the 20s.
Coastal areas will be slightly cooler, with cities like Plymouth experiencing around 17C but still enjoying plenty of sunshine.

PAMet Office meteorologist Honor Criswick described Saturday as "a dry and pleasant day ahead" with "wall to wall sunshine in some spaces".
Most of the UK will experience clear, bright skies, though some cloudy patches are expected in western areas.
The Scottish Highlands could see particularly dramatic temperature increases, with forecasts suggesting readings around eight degrees higher than the seasonal average.
Wales and Northern Ireland are set to hit temperatures two to four degrees above average for this time of year.
Despite the warm forecast, the Met Office has warned of potential rain and thunderstorms in parts of the UK.
Showers are expected to begin in the southwest on Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Harris said: "From Saturday night, into Sunday morning, there is an increasing chance of rain, showers and isolated thunderstorms moving northwards across the southwest of the UK."
The unsettled conditions could intensify on Monday, particularly in Wales and southern England.

Harris warned: "Should these thunderstorms develop, especially on Monday, there is potential for 25-35mm of rain to fall in an hour."
Meanwhile, Barcelona will reach just 18C on Saturday and 22C on Sunday, with Spain's northern regions under a Status Orange storm alert.
The wet weather in Britain should ease by Tuesday.
