Wizz Air has unveiled plans to launch a new direct service connecting Birmingham Airport with the Romanian city of Timișoara.
The route will start operations on May 21, 2026, with flights departing twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
Fares for the new connection start at £22.99 one-way, with bookings now open through the airline's website and mobile application.
This latest addition brings Wizz Air's total number of destinations served from Birmingham to seven. The announcement follows the airline's recent introduction of services to Sibiu and Rome from the airport.

CEO of Birmingham Airport, Nick Barton, said: "We're delighted that Wizz Air has further increased its presence at Birmingham Airport with the launch of a new route to Timișoara. This is a brand-new addition to our departures board and accompanies Wizz Air's current direct routes from Birmingham to Rome, Bucharest, Craiova, Budapest, Sibiu and Suceava.
"Regarded as Romania's 'Little Vienna', Timișoara is a renowned cultural hub, home to acclaimed museums, vibrant art galleries and unmissable historical sights, so we're confident that this new service will prove popular with our customers."

The route announcement comes as the budget carrier announced it has now transported 500 million passengers since its founding in 2004 and expanded its network to encompass 1,000 routes across Europe.
A Wizz Air spokesperson said: "We're excited to add this new route to our operations from Birmingham, marking our seventh route from the airport. Timișoara is one of Europe's hidden gems, offering a mixture of history and culture, and we're delighted to make it more accessible for our UK customers."
