Customers will be able to book more in a single transaction

Wizz Air has today unveiled WIZZ Link, a platform set to make planning and booking travel easier for holidaymakers.

Created alongside travel technology firm Dohop, it allows passengers to arrange journeys involving multiple flights in a single transaction.

The low-cost carrier's new service opens up close to 8,000 fresh route options spanning Europe, the Middle East and further afield.

Travellers can now access destinations that needed separate reservations before, with the platform accessible at wizzlink.wizzair.com.

According to the airline, holidaymakers spend as much as five hours researching and booking individual flights before trips. For those booking onward travel, scheduling mismatches and confusion over baggage policies can cause added stress.

The bookings will run through all the main connection hubs, including Budapest, London, Rome, Warsaw and Tirana.

The service aims to eliminate the complications passengers face when booking through online travel agencies, which can leave travellers without proper support during disruptions.

WIZZ Link includes ConnectSure, a protection feature designed to assist customers facing delays, cancellations or missed connections. This safeguard covers every leg of a passenger's journey, providing reassurance throughout multi-flight itineraries.

The platform allows customers to book trips ranging from city breaks in Rome to business travel via Vienna or leisure journeys to destinations such as Jeddah.

Senior chief commercial and operations officer at Wizz Air, Michael Delehant, said: "Online Travel Agencies (OTA) continue to command a large share of the online market - over a third of travellers book flights via OTAs nowadays.

"We know travellers want flexibility, simplicity, and great value. WIZZ Link gives our passengers the freedom to explore more cities and countries with the same low fares and confidence they expect from Wizz Air.

"It also uses advanced technology to connect Wizz Air's growing network like never before. We are happy to make another strong step forward for our Customer First Compass commitments and for Wizz Air's long-term growth".

Chief operating officer at Dohop, Hugh Aitken, added: "WIZZ Link shows how airlines can use smart technology to offer travellers more ways to connect. Working with Wizz Air, we've made it possible to combine flights that previously required separate bookings, using what we call alternative interline technology, a modern way of linking flights without traditional airline agreements.

"This gives passengers new travel options and a much easier way to plan their journeys. We're proud to support Wizz Air in making travel simpler and opening up more of its network to customers."

Dohop currently provides connected travel solutions to more than 100 airlines globally, utilising technology that bypasses traditional interline systems.
