Virgin Voyages is set to transform how holidaymakers book cruises with its groundbreaking VoyageFair Choices system, launching on October 7.
The adults-only cruise line will become the first in the industry to adopt airline-style pricing transparency, introducing three distinct fare categories that give passengers more control over their holiday budgets.
The new booking model marks a dramatic departure from traditional cruise pricing, where costs are often bundled together without clear breakdowns.
British travellers will now see exactly what they're paying for, with options ranging from budget-conscious to premium experiences. The three-tier system offers something for every British traveller.

The Base fare provides the most affordable option with basic Wi-Fi for social media and messaging, though it's non-refundable and doesn't allow changes.
The Essential fare includes better Wi-Fi with browsing and audio calling capabilities, plus the flexibility to change voyage dates using future cruise credits.
For those wanting the full experience, the Premium fare delivers Wi-Fi suitable for streaming on two devices, complimentary drinks through an included bar tab, and priority booking support.
Premium passengers can book dining reservations 60 days in advance - a privilege previously reserved only for suite guests.
Service gratuities are getting a complete overhaul, too. Previously hidden within the overall fare price, tips will now appear as a distinct charge when booking. Cruisers can pre-pay at a discounted rate of $20 (around £15) per person per night, or settle onboard at $22 (around £16) per night.
This transparent approach means no unexpected charges or awkward tipping situations during the voyage. Once gratuities are covered, that's it - no additional tips are expected anywhere on the ship.
CEO of Virgin Voyages, Nirmal Saverimuttu, said: "Travellers expect clarity and choice from airlines and hotels, and Virgin Voyages is the first to bring that same simplicity and pricing model to cruising.
“This isn’t about gimmicks or fine print. We’re making it easier to book a voyage with confidence while knowing that once you’re onboard, the experience is unmistakably Virgin: elevated and unforgettable.”

Board member and senior advisor, John Lovell, added: “Having spent many years in the travel industry, I’ve seen how quickly traveller expectations are changing. People want more flexibility, more transparency and more control over how they vacation.
"Virgin Voyages has already changed what it means to cruise and now, with VoyageFair Choices, we’re changing how people book. It’s a model built for the modern traveller and another example of Virgin pushing the industry forward.”
