Britons across the country will be busy planning their summer holiday escapes. And for those who have not yet decided on a destination, a resort in Turkey might be your best (and cheapest) bet.

Side, Turkey is synonymous with incredible beaches, stunning nature, and intriguing ancient ruins. A quiet beach hotel here offers a week in summer for under £400.


Britons can snap up a seven-night break in Side, Turkey, for £393 per person - including up to 23kg of checked luggage - with a stay at A Hotel Side.

Manavgat Waterfall is a must-see and the perfect spot for a picnic or scenic walk. One visitor said: "Highly recommended if you are in the area. It has beautiful scenery, and is very nice and cool, especially on a hot summer day."

Another said: "What a beautiful place to visit. The entry fee is next to nothing and it is very much a favourite place for locals."

Köprülü Canyon is "one of Turkey's most spectacular natural wonders", according to the travel experts at Viator. For adventurers, the Canyon is "renowned as one of the best - and most picturesque - destinations for white-water rafting in Turkey.

A visit to the Apollon Temple is also essential for lovers of ancient history. A delighted visitor said on Tripadvisor: "This ancient city is definitely a place everyone should see."

The happy holidaymaker explained: "It has a wonderful environment, a peninsula extending into the middle of the sea, and ancient ruins everywhere. The Temple of Apollo is also at the most important point of the city, by the sea by the harbour. We highly recommend you visit it, especially in the evening at sunset."
