For fans at the iconic venue, it was a chance to witness recognition of one of snooker's most influential figures.

O'Sullivan rewrote the record books on 20 March this year at the World Open in Yushan, Jiangxi, China.

He managed an extraordinary 153 break during the tournament, smashing through a barrier that had stood for half a century.

The previous maximum break record of 151 had remained untouched since 1976, making this achievement all the more remarkable.

This stunning performance earned him the Guinness World Records title for the highest break in snooker.

It's the kind of moment that reminds everyone why O'Sullivan is considered one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.

The five certificates handed to O'Sullivan represent some truly iconic moments in the sport.

Alongside his record-breaking 153 break, he was recognised for completing the fastest 147 break in snooker history, clocking in at just 5 minutes and 8 seconds back in April 1997.

He also holds the record for the most competitive maximum breaks, having achieved 17 perfect 147s between 1997 and August 2025.

His dominance extends to ranking events too, with 41 career titles won between 1993 and January 2024.

And let's not forget he became the first player ever to reach 1,000 competitive centuries, a milestone achieved in March 2019.
