Holidaymakers will be able to jet off from Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Newcastle

Jet2 has just launched new flights and city breaks to beautiful Bergen, Norway.

Britons from several major UK airports will be able to experience the charm of the second largest Norweigan city.

Just yesterday, on April 25, 2024, flights took off for Bergen from Manchester Airport and Newcastle International Airport.

The airline said: "The busy flights mark the first time that Jet2 has operated to Bergen in over 15 years, and it means that the airline and city break specialist are giving customers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Norway’s famous fjords."

Norway's coastline is famous for its dramatic fjords, which are long, narrow sea inlets with steep sides or cliffs, created by a glacier.

Calling this city "the heart of the fjords", an excerpt from Visit Bergen reads: "Bergen is surrounded by one of the world's most spectacular tourist attractions - the fjords, which have now been included on UNESCO's World Heritage List."

Jet2 continued: "Over the next few weeks, Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will be expanding their programme to Bergen even further, when their new flights and city breaks start operating in May from Leeds Bradford Airport and Birmingham Airport.

"The new programme of flights and city breaks to Norway for Spring 24 has been launched in response to increasing demand from customers who are looking for more discovery-based experience holidays."

Britons can have ultimate flexibility with the option to book a flight-only option or an exciting package holiday with Jet2CityBreaks.

Jet2 said: "Package holidays to Bergen are part of a growing product range called 'Discover More’ that has been designed to cater to holidaymakers’ sense of adventure, which includes non-family bookings, couples and solo travellers.

"As well as giving customers easy access to stunning Fjords such as Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, the city of Bergen itself boasts a backdrop of spectacular mountains which are wrapped around a picturesque harbour lined with a variety of fashionable restaurants and bars."

Discover More experience-based city breaks and holidays that have been designed to appeal to those with a sense of adventure, whether that involves ticking off historic sights, delving into local cultures, or soaking up knockout scenery.

Britons will be able to fly to Bergen from several airports in the UK: Manchester Airport, Birmingham Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and Newcastle International Airport. Holidaymakers should consult Jet2's official website for exact dates and packages.

CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, said: "We are delighted to see our new programme of flights and city breaks to Bergen start operating from Manchester Airport and Newcastle International Airport. We also look forward to seeing our first flights depart from Leeds Bradford Airport and Birmingham Airport in the coming weeks.
