Princess Cruises has unveiled a revamp of the Sapphire Princess ship. The 115,875-tonne vessel now has two fantastic new dining venues that passengers are going to love.
The ship's makeover brings aboard Makoto Ocean, a sophisticated sushi restaurant, and Crown Grill, a much-loved steakhouse that's already won hearts across the fleet. Both restaurants will welcome their first diners on November 16, 2025.
It's a big upgrade for the 2,670-passenger ship, transforming the spaces into what promise to be two of the most sought-after dining spots at sea.
Chef Makoto Okuwa's celebrated sushi concept has found a new home where the old Internet Café used to be on Deck 7. The restaurant brings authentic Edomae-style Japanese cuisine to the high seas, and the menu sounds absolutely delicious.

Passengers can tuck into specialities like truffle salmon, snow crab temaki and toro tartare. The bar team has crafted some lovely cocktails too - there's the Genmai Negroni, which puts a Japanese spin on the Italian classic, and the Kodai No Hana, mixing yuzu juice with Doburoku, an ancient type of sake.
It's the same offerings that have already proved popular on Sun Princess and Star Princess. The beloved Crown Grill has taken over what was once the Savoy Dining Room on Deck 5.
This award-winning steakhouse serves up premium aged beef, succulent chops and fresh seafood in an elegant setting with attentive service. It's been recognised as one of the best cruise ship steakhouses at sea, and it's easy to see why.
Both restaurants will set you back $60 (around £45) per person, although they are included if you've booked the Princess Premier package.

Cruisegoers can also enjoy new routes. Sapphire Princess heads to Mexico before spending time cruising South America and Antarctica. She'll then sail the Mediterranean and Northern Europe in spring and summer 2026, followed by Canada and New England voyages that autumn.
March 2027 brings something truly special - both Sapphire Princess and her sister Diamond Princess will reunite in Japan for the first time. The two ships, both built in Japan, will operate from the Tokyo area throughout Princess Cruises' biggest ever Japan season.
Princess Cruises vice president of food and beverage, Sami Kohen, said: "With the addition of Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill, our guests aboard Sapphire Princess will enjoy two of our most popular dining experiences, elevating the culinary journey across her itineraries.
"We're especially proud to bring these enhancements as Sapphire Princess prepares for remarkable seasons ahead, including our historic dual-ship deployment in Japan in 2027."

It has shared changes to its Western Mediterranean routes aboard the Sun Princess for the 2026-2027 season. The cruise line will introduce fresh destinations whilst removing Gibraltar from its itinerary.
The revisions impact sixteen seven-night voyages scheduled between April 4 and October 17, 2027. Travellers will now visit Palma in Mallorca and Ajaccio in Corsica, with La Spezia offering overnight accommodation for extended exploration of Florence and Pisa.
