Budget carrier Wizz Air has shared plans to introduce two direct services from Glasgow to major Italian cities.
The airline will begin flights to Rome and Milan from October 27, 2025, giving Britons more ways to enjoy an autumn or winter getaway.
These new connections will also provide Scottish passengers with affordable access to Italy, with introductory fares beginning at £26.99.
The services will run three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Glasgow to Milan service will connect Scotland with Italy's fashion capital, whilst the Rome route opens access to the Italian capital's historical attractions.

Both destinations will receive three flights per week from Glasgow Airport. The airline highlighted that Milan offers excellent transport connections to northern Italy's lake district, including Como, whilst Rome provides gateway access to coastal destinations such as Sperlonga in Latina province.
The Trentino region was also mentioned as an alternative to Como's famous lakeside scenery. Passengers can book tickets immediately through the airline's website and mobile application for travel commencing in late October.
That's not all for connections to Italy, however, as the carrier will also introduce a daily London Luton to Venice service from December 1, 2025, priced from £21.99.
Managing director at Wizz Air UK, Yvonne Moynihan, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our presence in Scotland with the launch of two new routes from Glasgow to Rome and Milan.
"Connecting Scotland with some of Europe’s most iconic cities is a key part of our growth strategy. We’re proud to offer travellers in this part of the UK more affordable and convenient options to explore the world.
"Whether it’s soaking up the culture of Rome or experiencing the style and energy of Milan, our new services make it easier than ever for Scottish travellers to discover all that Italy has to offer.”
Aero director at AGS Airports, Chris Tibbett, added: "Glasgow Airport is delighted to welcome not one, but two, exciting new routes from Wizz Air, connecting Scotland directly to the heart of Italy. From October, Wizz Air will launch flights to Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa, offering passengers convenient access to two of Europe’s most iconic cities.
NEW ROUTES
“Whether chasing the thrill of stunning ski slopes a stone’s throw from Milan, soaking in Roman coffee culture, or hunting a designer bargain in the home of fashion, passengers will now have convenient access to these dynamic cities and we’re confident that these new services will be warmly welcomed by travellers in the West of Scotland travelling from their local airport."
This comes as Wizz Air announced five new routes to Spain, including daily flights to a sunny city.
Budget carrier Wizz Air has announced new flights from its London Luton base, introducing five Spanish destinations set to commence on March 29, 2026.
The low-cost airline will offer connections to Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Seville, with introductory prices beginning at £17.99.
