Jet2 announces new routes from 3 UK airports to idyllic parts of France

It's great news for anyone who loves a proper European Christmas market experience.

The move comes after the company boosted its winter programme just a few months ago, and this latest addition means it will be offering its biggest ever selection of festive breaks.

Flights to Strasbourg will depart from three UK airports, with two services each week.

From Edinburgh, planes depart on Mondays and Fridays between November 27 and December 21 - and this route is exclusive to Jet2. Manchester gets Thursday and Sunday departures from November 26 to December 20.

London Stansted follows the same Thursday and Sunday pattern as Manchester, also running from November 26 to December 20. Like Edinburgh, the Stansted route is one you won't find with other airlines.

The timing is spot-on for anyone wanting to soak up the festive atmosphere before the big day itself.

Strasbourg itself is a real gem, blending French and German influences with its famous half-timbered houses, pretty canals and stunning Gothic cathedral.

The historic heart of the city, Grande Île, holds UNESCO World Heritage status and becomes absolutely magical during the festive season. The Christmas market here has been running since 1570, making it one of the oldest in Europe.

For those heading to Colmar, you'll fly into Strasbourg and then hop on a train to reach this fairytale town.

Colmar's cobbled streets and canals light up with thousands of twinkling lights, while several smaller markets dot the old town.

With this latest addition, Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks now offer 15 Christmas market destinations across Europe, operating from 13 UK airports between November 2026 and January 2027.

The full list includes Barcelona, Bratislava, Berlin, Budapest, Cologne, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Krakow, Malmo, Paris, Prague, Tallinn and Vienna alongside the two new Alsace additions.
