Edinburgh Airport will gain a new gateway to the Italian Alps as Jet2.com introduces flights to Verona for the next two winter seasons.
The leisure carrier has announced it will launch services to the Italian city for both the 2025/26 and 2026/27 winter periods. The expansion follows strong demand from winter sports enthusiasts looking to visit Alpine destinations.
Verona will become an exclusive winter route from Edinburgh, with no other airlines operating this service during the ski season.
The new destination forms part of Jet2.com's broader winter sports programme from the Scottish capital, which now encompasses six ski gateways.

The airline will provide 4,000 extra ski seats through its new Verona route. Weekly Saturday flights will commence on February 7, 2026 for the first winter season, aligning with the 2026 Winter Olympics schedule.
Services for the 2026/27 season will begin earlier, starting December 26, 2026, enabling holidaymakers to travel during the Christmas period. Morning departure times have been scheduled to maximise time on the slopes for winter sports enthusiasts.
The Verona service joins existing Edinburgh ski routes to Chambéry, Geneva, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Turin. Manchester Airport will be the only other UK base offering Jet2.com flights to Verona during these winter seasons.
The Verona route opens access to several renowned Italian Alpine resorts. Val di Fassa, located in the Trentino region, ranks among Italy's most extensive skiing areas.
Madonna di Campiglio, positioned within the Brenta Dolomites of northern Italy, offers another premier destination accessible from Verona. The resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo provides world-renowned ski runs amid spectacular Dolomites scenery.
These resorts cater to various skill levels, from novices to experienced skiers and snowboarders. The proximity of multiple ski areas to Verona airport ensures convenient transfers for winter sports enthusiasts seeking Italian Alpine experiences.
Chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, said: "We are experiencing continued demand from skiers and snowboarders clamouring to book the best of the action for this winter and next and our ski flights are selling very well."
The airline operates winter sports flights from ten UK airports, including Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle International and London Stansted. Passengers benefit from 10kg hand luggage allowance, plus 22kg for both standard baggage and ski equipment.
