Once your holiday is booked and bags are packed, the only thing left between you and your trip away is navigating the airport.
This is stressful for many holidaygoers, especially during the peak summer months, but an expert has shared tips to make this part of the journey smoother.
A stress-free airport experience begins the day before, according to senior cabin crew at Aer Lingus, Laura Stapleton.
She said checking your passports and visas in advance is key, and with most airlines, including Aer Lingus, "you can check in online or on the app before travelling to the airport" and get "real-time flight information and updates" on the apps.

GETTYWhen packing, the pro suggested "using packing cubes to organise and save space in your suitcase. For additional piece of mind, an Airtag is a good idea".
But don't forget to leave some layers out for the flight - "it may be warm outside, but the cabin can be cooler. A light jumper or jacket will keep you cosy throughout the flight".
Once you've made it to the airport, being prepared will make getting through the airport as simple as possible. The expert suggested a number of essentials to keep in your carry-on.
Laura said: "[Have] a re-useable clear liquid bag to separate out liquids, gels, and pastes with each container no bigger than 100ml. I always have eyedrops, hand sanitiser and lip balm close to hand.
"Keep your passport, phone and chargers in your hand luggage so they are always within easy reach. Bring your own reusable water bottle and take advantage of free water fountains across the airport."
Once you are through security, it is easier to relax. But the travel pro recommended arriving at the boarding gate as soon as it is announced, to avoid rushing around.
Laura explained: "Always arrive at the boarding gate early. Check departure boards and listen for announcements as gates can often change.
"I take it as an opportunity to use the Wi-Fi and download a series or movie to my iPad whilst waiting at the gate. Noise-cancelling headphones are also a must for longer flights."
