A new partnership will benefit holidaymakers

Etihad has updated its loyalty scheme as part of a new collaboration with digital banking platform Revolut.

British travellers will have more ways to accumulate rewards for flights with the UAE's national carrier, as customers can convert their RevPoints into airline miles at an equal exchange rate.

This comes as Etihad Airways has shared a number of positive updates, including the introduction of 27 fresh routes to its schedule this year.

This development gives UK consumers more flexibility in how they collect travel rewards through routine financial transactions.

Customers will have more ways to earn and spend points

The conversion process will be available through Revolut's mobile application, where users can seamlessly transform their accumulated RevPoints into airline miles. No minimum threshold exists for transfers, ensuring even modest point balances can be converted immediately.

This accessibility feature distinguishes the programme from traditional airline loyalty schemes that often impose restrictive transfer requirements. Revolut account holders must simply go to their rewards section and select Etihad Guest as their preferred transfer partner.

The straightforward one-to-one conversion rate eliminates complex calculations, whilst the instant transfer capability means customers can book flights without delays. The service is available to Revolut's millions of users across multiple countries.

Members can apply their miles towards flights across Etihad's extensive route map spanning over 100 global destinations.

Those using the loyalty scheme can use their points to enjoy benefits such as free cabin class upgrades, accommodation bookings at hotels across the world and even use these for holiday packages.

The airline's reward shop is another way to gain miles when purchasing various products.

Etihad's latest network expansion includes new services to destinations such as Phnom Penh, Sumatra and Hong Kong, broadening the travel possibilities for members.

There is also a boost in routes in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, giving British travellers more options when spending their earned rewards.

Etihad is a popular airline option if travelling to the UAE

Managing director of Etihad Guest, Mark Potter, said: "We're excited to offer new and existing members even more opportunity to earn Etihad Guest Miles internationally through this partnership with Revolut unlocking a world of rewards and benefits for members to choose from and enjoy."

General Manager (Loyalty) at Revolut, Christopher Guttridge, added: “Since we launched RevPoints last year, we have seen that Airline Miles have been the most popular way for our customers to redeem their points. Which is why we are honoured to partner with Etihad Guest to help us unlock more flight destinations for RevPoints customers and offer more ways to enjoy points earned on everyday spending.

"Customers can use their RevPoints to book flights and get seat upgrades across Etihad’s expanding global network. Our partnership with Etihad also strengthens our Travel product suite, which extends beyond Airline Miles and includes eSIM, Lounges, Stays and Experiences.”
