The warm temperatures show no sign of stopping this weekend, so why not visit one of the UK's top coastal gems?

Spending a day by the water is a perfect way to stay cool during the third heatwave of the year, while also taking in some stunning British views.

New research has ranked the top hidden coastal gems to consider this weekend.

The best place to visit is found in Wales, as Trearddur in Anglesey came top in analysis by Insure4Boats. This wasn't the only place recommended in Anglesey, with Llanddona landing in the number 12 spot.

The research compared online search volumes of more than 250 UK coastal towns, cities, villages and resorts to find the top 15. The locations were also scored on the number of local attractions, social media engagement, Blue Flag status and the chance of sun and rain.
