The research was conducted by Sweepstakes Table, who analysed average prices across the UK, with Swansea named the cheapest option.

At £12.29 - and offering some incredible walks - this could persuade holidaymakers to pick the city for their next staycation.

Doncaster, Wolverhampton and Coventry were next on the list, all promising a slap-up meal for around £15 or less. The average cost was calculated based on prices at five restaurants in each location.

Swansea was notably cheap, around 28 per cent cheaper than the most expensive destinations in the top 10 list. The experts said: "Taking the top spot as the UK's most affordable Sunday roast destination is Swansea, where diners can enjoy a traditional roast for an average of just £12.29.

"The Welsh coastal city offers exceptional value, coming in nearly £11 cheaper than the most expensive city on the ‘most expensive cities’ list.

"Still comfortably under £14, the market town offers excellent value for money, making it an attractive option for those wanting to stretch their dining budget further while still enjoying a hearty Sunday dinner."
