British travellers looking to upgrade their next city break may be surprised by how far their money can go.
New research has revealed that five-star luxury in parts of Europe costs a fraction of what visitors might expect, with Lisbon emerging as the best-value destination overall.
According to data from TravelSupermarket, Portugal’s capital is the cheapest European city for a five-star break, averaging at £308 per person.
The findings compare the average cost of luxury stays across major European cities, highlighting significant price differences between popular locations.

Lisbon was named the cheapest five-star city break

At the opposite end of the table, Paris stands out as by far the most expensive option on the list, costing more than three times as much as Lisbon for a five-star stay.
