Beaches in Scotland have an overwhelming majority of Britain's top five coastal destinations, according to new research.
Scottish coastlines took four spots among the nation's five highest-rated beaches in a survey that analysed Tripadvisor feedback.
The research, commissioned by Chicks Gold, crowned Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris as the UK's top coastal destination.
It looked at beaches achieving four-star ratings or above, calculating the proportion of five-star reviews against total feedback received.

The top 10 showed the positive reviews were most prominent across Scotland, with Marloes Sands Beach in Pembrokeshire ranking highest outside of Scotland.
Describing the number one beach, Visit Scotland states: "Luskentyre is one of the largest and most spectacular beaches on Harris.
"Scenery includes wonderful sand dunes and the island of Taransay, famous for being the setting of Castaway. Nearby activities include hillwalking, cycling and much more."
For England, Embleton Bay was voted the best beach. For more in England, the Isle of Wight's Steve's Beach also made the rankings.
Visit Northumberland states: "Low Newton's charming Embleton Bay, its white fisherman's cottages, its local produce, and its stunning stretch of Northumberland coastline are all reasons to visit this small, yet remarkable, place."
A trio of Northumberland beaches ranked on the list - Embleton Bay, Ross Back Sands and St Aidan - collectively showcase the county's exceptional coastline.

| GETTYThis comes as another study highlighted more of the UK's beautiful beaches, as two were named among the best in the world.
Rhossili Bay and Caswell Bay, both in Wales, ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, in the data, which reviewed where holidaymakers are happiest.
The Welsh beaches were two of only three beaches outside of Europe that made the top 20 list.
