Britons are looking for luxury on their next long-haul getaway

British holidaymakers are falling in love with all-inclusive packages when they're jetting off to far-flung destinations. It turns out that nearly half of Britons are now choosing to have everything sorted before they leave.

The latest figures from Thomas Cook show that 45 per cent of its customers pick all-inclusive deals when they're heading long-haul. This is up from 37 per cent of long-haul customers, and shows a massive shift from the days when these packages were mainly associated with European beach resorts.

Holidaymakers want to know their meals, drinks and entertainment are all paid for upfront. No hunting for restaurants, no surprise bills, just pure relaxation from the moment they arrive.

What's more, travellers aren't settling for basic accommodation either. A whopping 95 per cent of those booking long-haul all-inclusive breaks are staying in 4-star hotels or above.
