X, formerly known as Twitter, is down in a mass outage.
The site and app are not loading, with users seeing only the logo as the site attempts to load, or "Something went wrong. Try reloading."
Popular tracking website Downdetector has also shown a massive spike in reports of the outage across the UK since 1pm this afternoon.

At the time of writing, over 3,000 users have reported X being down in the UK.
In the UK, one in five users who are reporting issues with the platform can't access the main feed.
Over 42,000 have reported similar loading issues in the US.
This is X's third major outage this year.
X has experienced several outages within the last year. Elon Musk, who bought the platform in 2022, has said "major operational improvements" are needed.
Earlier last year, X also suffered a massive outage due to a "major cyberattack."
The platform has yet to confirm today's outage or when we can expect it to go back online.
