UPDATE: X is back up and running after thousands of users reported the social media platform wasn't working this afternoon.
X, formerly known as Twitter, is down in a mass outage.
The site and app are not loading, with users reportedly either seeing a blank page or a Cloudflare error message.
Popular tracking website Downdetector has also shown a massive spike in reports of the outage across the UK since 3pm this afternoon.

At the time of writing, over 12,000 users have reported X being down.
This follows another major outage this week, where the app and website also stopped working on Tuesday.
X has experienced several outages within the last year. Elon Musk, who bought the platform in 2022, has said "major operational improvements" are needed.
Earlier last year, X also suffered a massive outage due to a "major cyberattack."
