They could make a great Christmas gift this year

In need of an audio or handset upgrade? British startup brand Nothing is offering special Black Friday deals on their online site this season, where you can get both for a fraction of the price.

The latest budget earbuds from British startup Nothing have plummeted to just £24. Usually £39, these AirPods competitors won a Red Dot design award last year for their sleek appearance.

Plus, you can pick up the Android-powered CMF Phone 1 for just £179. That’s £60 off its usual £239 price — meaning you’re effectively getting the buds for almost nothing when you bundle them together, and still saving enough to gift a second pair to someone this Christmas.

The award-winning British brand behind these 'buds and mobile recently launched its first flagship Android phone, dubbed Nothing Phone (3), and a pair of noise-cancelling over-ear headphones to compete with the best from Bose, Sony, and Sonos. Both of these all-new devices launched earlier this year with a much heftier price tag than you might be accustomed to from the small UK-based upstart.

If you're looking for something a little more wallet-friendly, you can't go wrong with the CMF Buds 2 from Nothing's affordable sub-brand CMF.

Pocket the CMF Buds 2 from Nothing for only £24

The CMF Buds 2 by British brand Nothing offer 42dB active noise cancellation, 12.4mm bio-fibre drivers with Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, and up to 35.5 hours of battery life. They feature Bluetooth 5.3 with dual-device pairing, customizable EQ via the Nothing X app, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

These wireless buds are available in Dark Grey, Light Green, and Orange colourways.

At only £24 on sale, these Bluetooth 'buds still come equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to quash distracting background sounds and ensure you don't need to crank up the volume to hear your favourite album, audiobook, or podcast.

You can expect up to 8 hours of listening on a single charge, although that'll drop slightly if you're using the CMF Buds for hands-free calls.

Drop the 'buds in the carry case to top up the battery on-the-go. In total, battery life is 35.5 hours with the case. If you're in a rush, the earbuds can be bolstered with 6.5 hours of listening time with just 10 minutes in the case, thanks to the built-in fast-charging capabilities.

With Bluetooth 5.3 support, CMF Buds can be paired to multiple devices at the same time, so you can switch between listening to a podcast on your phone to a movie on a tablet without digging into the settings menu.

Buy the CMF Phone 1 from Nothing for under £180

You can get a brand new Android-powered mobile for only £179. Take clear photos with a 50MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. Powered with a 5,000-mAh battery, you'll get nearly two days of use out of one full charge.

Available in black, orange, and light green, just like the CMF 2 earbuds, you can get them as a matching set.

In the box, you'll find everything you need for the simple procedure: screwdriver, screws, and a colour-matched SIM tray. Replacement cases for the CMF Phone 1 cost £29 and are available in Orange, Light Green, and Blue.

And that's not the only trick when it comes to customising this budget handset.

In the bottom corner of the back panel, you'll find a circular cover that resembles a small wheel. In addition to spinning like a small, built-in fidget spinner, the primary purpose of this feature is to protect the accessory port.

all three accessories for the CMF phone 1 included the orange card holder kickstand and lanyardMore accessories are likely on the way from the team at Nothing, but for now, CMF Phone 1 is compatible with a textured card holder, a kickstand, and a lanyard. Prices for these start from £19 | NOTHING PRESS OFFICE

CMF has designed three unique accessories that connect to this port and change the phone. At launch, it's created a lanyard so you can wear your phone over one shoulder, a kickstand that props up the CMF Phone 1, and a card holder that's reminiscent of the MagSafe wallet built by Apple sells for its iPhone.

Aside from this colourful design, the exposed screws, and interchangeable covers ...everything else about the CMF Phone 1 is what you'd expect from this price point.

You'll find a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen on the front of the handset, which uses a 120Hz refresh rate panel that promises buttery-smooth system animations and a responsive feel. Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor coupled with 8GB of RAM, Nothing is confident that its new budget handset will offer a "fast and smooth" performance during everyday tasks.

Nothing has opted to use the same Nothing OS 2.6 software developed for its mainline smartphones, so you'll find the same trademark pixelated icons and grey tones in the menu when you fire up the CMF Phone 1.

That also means you'll benefit from all of the hard work from the team at Nothing over the last four years since it was founded, including the slew of nifty widgets designed to sit on your homescreen and deliver useful updates — saving you from the need to keep launching apps.

With its mammoth 5,000mAh lithium-ion cell, Nothing promises two days of battery life on a charge charge. When it's time to top up the battery, everything is handled with a USB-C cable.

On the back, there's a powerful Sony 50MP rear camera with a dedicated portrait sensor that should ensure a more accurate bokeh effect, recreating the look of a DSLR camera. On the front, there's a 16 MP selfie camera.
