New all-in-one Smart TV will launch on June 10
Don't Miss

Sky Glass Air — the newest flatscreen developed by the UK broadcaster — will be available to buy on June 10.
From the outside, Sky Glass Air looks very similar to the slimline 4K TVs you'll find lining the shelves of your local electronics store. It boasts a Quantum Dot display with a 4K UHD resolution and support for HDR standards. But this svelte Smart TV arrives with everything you need to stream live and on-demand television over a Wi-Fi connection. There's no need to connect a standalone box via HDMI or affix a satellite dish to the outside of your home.
Prices start from £6 per month for a 43” screen size, rising to £10 for 55”, and topping out at £13 for the 65” model.
@gbnews Here are five things Sky DIDN'T TELL YOU about the Sky Glass Air. #Sky #SkyTV #Tech #TV #GBNews
Sky Glass Air is powered by Sky OS, née EntertainmentOS, the same custom-designed software that runs on the newly refreshed Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Stream. It’s designed to bring together live channels with the torrent of content from its own on-demand library and streamers like Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Prime Video.
The new telly comes equipped with a far-field microphone array, enabling hands-free voice controls, so you can switch channels, control playback, and adjust volume with a spoken command using the wake phrase "Hello Sky...". An ambient light sensor will automatically brighten the image on-screen for a clearer, more vivid picture based on your surroundings.
Sky Glass Air arrives in Sea Green, Carbon Grey, and Cotton White — three distinct colourways, separate from the selection available on the pricier Sky Glass Gen 2
SKY TV PRESS OFFICE
Sky Glass Air is available in three colours – Sea Green, Carbon Grey, and Cotton White. Each plug-and-play TV arrives with a colour-matched remote control. Those are distinct from the three finishes released for Sky Glass Gen 2 (Volcanic Grey, Atlantic Blue, Arctic Silver) although Sea Green bears a passing resemblance to the Racing Green that launched with the original Sky Glass but didn’t materialise for its successor.
The designers at Sky have made set-up easy, with no tools required to fit the redesigned aluminium stand. Glass Air is compatible with universal wall mounts, as well as one designed by the team inside Sky.
One of the biggest differentiators between Sky Glass Air and Sky Glass Gen 2 is the former is missing the Dolby Atmos soundbar built into the frame. With an HDMI eARC connection at the back, Sky Glass Air will work with any soundbar that you already own.
Sky TV and NOW Managing Director, Carli Kerr said: "With Sky Glass Air, we're bringing the Sky experience to more people through a beautifully designed TV with stunning picture quality from just £6 a month.
"It's all about giving people better for less: more choice, great tech, and the content they love, without compromising on quality. From the ultimate performance of Glass Gen 2 to the incredible value of Air, there’s now a Sky Glass to suit everyone, whether you’re new to Sky or already with us."
The new Sky Glass Air will be available to buy at Sky.com, brick-and-mortar Sky Stores nationwide, and via Sky call centres. Currys will stock the Sky Glass Air online from June 10.
It'll be on sale in Currys stores across the UK from June 18, if you wanted to see the Smart TV with your own eyes.
Sky Glass Air is thinner than its Glass Gen 2 counterpart, making it a better option for those who already own a soundbar or want a second telly for a bedroom or kitchen

Sky Glass Air includes Sky OS, so there's no need to plug-in a set-top box to watch live television channels, on-demand boxsets, or sports fixtures. But there's an additional 3x HDMI ports for game consoles

With the introduction of Sky Glass Air, this is how the lineup from Sky stacks up:
- Sky Stream — the most affordable option, which can be connected to any television via HDMI. It’s powered by the same SkyOS software and shares (almost) all of the same features as Sky Glass TVs. Can be paired with an existing sound system. Only available in a single colour, but ships with the redesigned remote control introduced with Sky Glass
- Sky Glass Air — the most affordable flatscreen built by the engineers at Sky. On paper, this upcoming model looks set to compete with the slew of Smart TVs powered by software from Roku, Android TV, or Amazon’s Fire TV. It ships in three colourways (Carbon Grey, Cotton White, Sea Green) and three sizes (43”, 55”, 65”) with a colour-matched remote control
- Sky Q — the last remaining kit from Sky that relies on a satellite dish, Sky Q is starting to look a little long-in-the-tooth following its launch in early 2016. It’s also the last set-top box standing with a physical hard-drive that actually records — since Glass and Stream don’t store anything locally and instead stream on-demand versions of the show, film, or match after-the-fact. Sky still rolls-out updates to Sky Q with new features or support for new streamers …but these are few and far between compared to SkyOS. This box is also quite pricey compared to Sky Stream
- Sky Glass Gen 2 — the first major refresh to Sky’s unique all-in-one television design in four years debuted in February with a brighter QLED display, more speakers, and new colours. It ships in either Volcanic Grey, Atlantic Blue, or Arctic Silver with a 43”, 55”, or 65” display

Sky Glass is an all-in-one solution that bundles a 4K QLED panel, Dolby Atmos-certified soundbar, hands-free voice controls, and everything you need to stream, pause, and rewind live television. Since everything is beamed via Wi-Fi, there's no need for a satellite dish or an engineer appointment to get started.
