Samsung has confirmed that its never-before-seen Galaxy foldable and its answer to the Apple Vision Pro will launch before the end of the year, according to the firm's Chief Financial Officer during a recent earnings call.
The next entry in the Galaxy Z lineup will take the form of a trifold design — with the ability to fold three times instead of the standard two, enabling a bigger screen to be squeezed down small enough to be pocketable. Once released, it'll directly compete with the Huawei Mate XT, the only other commercially available triple-folding phone.
Meanwhile, Samsung's new mixed reality (XR) headset will be another first for the company. It'll compete with Meta's Quest series and the Apple Vision Pro. Both of these device let you place windowed applications in your surrounding, so you can watch films on an IMAX-sized screen, play games, or plunge into immersive films.
Expect to see hand and eye tracking, support for AI-powered assistants like Gemini, and the ability to run standard Android apps in a spatial environment. Samsung has previously teased its headset — codenamed Project Moohan — by stating that it'll be "supported by the broader Galaxy ecosystem" to "empower and transform your everyday life — in a way that only we can deliver".
It promised: "This headset will be your spatial canvas to explore the world through Google Maps, enjoy a sports match on YouTube or plan trips with the help of Gemini. All these experiences come with lightweight, ergonomically optimized hardware designed to ensure maximum comfort during use."
There's no word on the price, with Meta Quest headsets starting from £289.99, while the Apple Vision Pro costs £3,499.
There have been rumours swirling about both these Samsung devices for some time, but it's interesting to hear an executive discuss an unannounced product during an earnings call and hint at a release date.

"In the MX business, we will drive sales of our premium mobile AI devices, including our newly launched foldables and aim to lead the market by expanding our ecosystem through innovative form factors like the upcoming TriFold device and our first XR headset, as well as services such as connected health," CFO Soon-Cheol Park stated to investors during a recent earnings call, as reported by Seeking Alpha.
While details might be sparse about the Samsung headset, we have much more information on what to expect from Samsung's first trifold model, which some rumours suggest could launch in a matter of weeks.

Samsung's Trifold Phone Anticipated Features
The concept of a trifold phone isn't completely new to Samsung, as they originally teased the idea of the release in January's Galaxy Unpacked event. There was also a conceptual version displayed at Mobile World Congress 2025.
An unnamed executive at Samsung told Android Authority the hardware for the device has already been designed. "We have it, we are ready (for it), we can put it into production."
Compared to traditional style smartphones, foldable devices, also known as "book-style" phones, offer an increased screen size after they're fully unfolded. The larger screen real estate can assist with multitasking, allowing users to run different applications right next to each other. Since they're easily able to fold down, this also allows for better compact portability.
If opting for the trifold style, the screen may be even bigger and act as a portable tablet for those who prefer a larger display. The battery within the device may be split between the cells of the phone, meaning there's room for a larger battery life within the design.
These are the anticipated features of the Samsung trifold phone. Although these features are subject to change before the product's final release to the public.
