"The new Galaxy S series is coming," Samsung has teased in the invitation for its next Galaxy Unpacked event. Scheduled for February 25, the blockbuster event will see the reveal of the successor to the Galaxy S25 lineup, which includes the all-singing, all-dancing Galaxy S25 Ultra, ultra-skinny Galaxy S25 Edge, and budget Galaxy S25 FE.
Samsung has teased that its next handsets will be "built to simplify everyday interactions, inspire confidence and make Galaxy AI feel seamlessly integrated from the moment it’s in hand." Whispers suggest the next smartphones from Samsung will be called Galaxy S26, sticking with the same naming convention used in recent years.
The next Galaxy Unpacked will be held in San Francisco, California. For those who will be watching in the UK, you'll need to tune in to the livestream from 6pm GMT. Samsung will make the entire event available via YouTube.
Based on the latest rumours, the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup will be a relatively modest step-up compared to its predecessors, with faster internals from US chipmaker Qualcomm to ensure Artificial Intelligence (AI) tasks run as smoothly as possible, an aluminium chassis — compared to the titanium used on its predecessor, and a new privacy-focused display that prevents passers-by from snooping on your screen.
In a series of teaser clips shared online in the run-up to Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung has nodded at several as-yet unannounced camera features that could make their debut with the Galaxy S26 lineup. One video, entitled "Closer", shows a pixel-packed amount of detail in a photograph of a dog that's been taken from a long distance.

The South Korean firm may leverage Galaxy AI to improve shots taken over long distances. In other clips, "Groove" and "Glow", Samsung has teased improved low-light performance for stills and videos.
Expect new colourways and a swathe of Galaxy AI features to automate some of the most arduous day-to-day tasks.
It's unclear whether we'll see a follow-up to the Galaxy S25 Edge or Galaxy S25 FE announced at Galaxy Unpacked this month. Samsung released both models in the six months after its first Galaxy Unpacked event last year, so it's possible we'll see a similar cadence this time around.
In the United States, Samsung is offering a chance to win a $5,000 gift card (£3,667 converted) on anything from its online store when you preorder any of the devices announced at the next Galaxy Unpacked keynote.
If you place a reservation before you find out what the new Galaxy S devices will be, Samsung will reward you with $30 in credit (roughly £22). Unfortunately, this offer isn't available in the UK.
