Android fans, the wait is almost over — Google will officially unveil its newest Pixel smartphone in less than 24 hours. The company has confirmed that the Made by Google 2025 launch event will take place on August 20 in New York City, where we expect the spotlight to shine on the all-new Google Pixel 10 series.

The event kicks off at 6pm UK time, streaming live on YouTube — so mark your calendars and get ready for Google’s next big reveal.

After months of speculation, Google is promising to showcase "Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more." Of course, GBN Tech will bring you news and analysis about the latest announcements from the Google Pixel team.

For those watching from the US, you'll need to tune in at these times:

  • 1pm EST
  • 12pm CT
  • 10am PT

You'll be able to watch the entire keynote on YouTube. There's no link yet, but you can sign up to be notified when the event starts from Google's recent YouTube video teasing the event.

From the teaser, viewers can also expect to have celebrity guests joining in on the announcement, including Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry, Lando Norris, the Jonas Brothers, and more.

There have been multiple other teasers from Google, leaks, and rumours leading up to the event. While it's no surprise that Google will be unveiling the new Pixel 10, the leaks and other teasers suggest that there will also be a new Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Plus, the recent YouTube video flashes a quick look at not only what appears to be the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but also the rumoured Pixel Buds 2a in iris purple and black, and the new Pixel watch in black.

All of the rumoured phones are expected to be powered by Google's custom-designed Tensor G5 chip system-on-a-chip, which looks set to use a 3-nanometre process, promising better power efficiency and a decent performance boost. That should result in Android apps launching faster, speedier AI tasks, and more headroom for years of software updates to come. That's good news, since Google promises at least seven years of Android operating system updates, security patches, and feature updates with all of its new Pixel handsets.

That speedier processor will enable deeper Google Gemini AI integration across the operating system, particularly within productivity apps such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the ability to see what's happening on-screen, so it can offer suggestions based on what you're doing.

Samsung has incorporated the same functionality in its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

So, how much can you expect these new phones to cost?

Whispers from inside Google suggest the Californian firm is planning to keep the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro at the same price points as their predecessors. Pixel 9 costs £799 in the UK, while the Pixel 9 Pro costs £999.

That means the Google Pixel lineup stands toe-to-toe with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Tipsters claim that shoppers in the US will need to budget an extra $100 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will arrive with a $200 price reduction.

If that carries over to the UK, Pixel 10 Pro XL could increase from £1,099 last year to a whopping £1,199. Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold would drop from £1,749 down to £1,549.

GB News will be tuning into the Made by Google 2025 launch event, so stay tuned for the latest news and reaction.
