ExpressVPN is the first VPN service to offer end-to-end encryption to Virtual Reality (VR) environments.
The award-winner has made history as the only way to ensure your internet history, personal information, and other identifiable details, including an approximate location, are safely secured behind military-grade encryption. Meta Quest headset owners can download ExpressVPN as a standalone app in the Meta App Store from today.
Once installed on your Meta Quest, ExpressVPN — widely considered as one of the best VPN deals — will now bring AES-256 encryption to everything you do.
If you want to be more prescriptive about what data is encrypted on your Meta Quest, ExpressVPN has launched an all-new hybrid browser extension – another first-of-its-kind for the industry.
While most VPN services offer an all-or-nothing approach to encryption on your device, the new browser extension from ExpressVPN can be used independently to protect browser traffic even when no standalone VPN app is installed, or it can be synced with the fully-featured ExpressVPN to enable full-device coverage. This hybrid approach is a first in the industry, which typically offers only browser-level support.
Secure ExpressVPN across 10x devices for just 6p a day

Protect your personal information and encrypt everything you do online for just £1.74 with the latest ExpressVPN deal. That equates to under 6p per day, trouncing NordVPN, its biggest competitor
ExpressVPN adds military-grade encryption across up to 10x devices, including iPhone, Android, Linux, Windows, Mac, Fire TV, and dozens more, to secure your internet traffic from prying eyes, advertisers, and governments. You'll benefit from an extra 4 months free with a two-year plan

With ExpressVPN installed in your browser, you can secure just the web traffic or everything running on your Meta Quest, including the apps and games downloaded from the Meta App Store.

Meta Quest headsets run its custom-designed Meta Horizon OS, which now supports military-grade encryption via the standalone ExpressVPN app available to download today
| META PRESS OFFICEYou can also connect different websites to different VPN locations using Smart Routing, so you can stream from the much larger catalogue of TV shows, films, and documentaries available on Netflix in the United States, but keep other websites locked to the UK, for example.
You can also toggle which apps use the VPN through split tunnelling, offering another level of control and flexibility. The ability to choose whether the secure VPN connection is enabled on a per-app basis is something we praised in our in-depth ExpressVPN review.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Although this browser extension is something completely new, it arrives with all of the features that ExpressVPN subscribers have come to expect. For example, it boasts HTML5 geolocation control, WebRTC leak protection, access to a wide range ofserver locations, and support for ExpressVPN’s Lightway protocol.

Thanks to the new hybrid-browser approach, ExpressVPN users can toggle between browser-only protection and complete device encryption – shielding data inside apps and games downloaded from the Meta App Store too

This first-of-its-kind hybrid browser extension isn't limited to the Meta Quest lineup of headsets, which start from £289 and top out at £469. ExpressVPN has confirmed this new approach to its browser extension — enabling you to toggle between complete-device and browser-only encryption with a single click — will be coming to other products.
You can install the ExpressVPN hybrid VPN browser extension from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons library now. ExpressVPN says the reason it decided to take this approach was in recognition of the way that "people increasingly use the internet across a mix of devices, platforms, and browser-based environments".
Discussing the new launch, Group Chief Operating Officer at ExpressVPN, Shay Peretz, told GB News: "Most VPNsmake you choose: either a simple browser proxy or a full-device app. Our new hybridbrowser extension does both in a single tool. You can protect just your browser when youwant something lightweight, or switch to full-device coverage with a click. We’re excited tolaunch this first-of-its-kind extension in the industry."
