The V8 is the entry-level cleaner in the Dyson lineup and is designed to be a do-it-all daily cleaner that still feels light and nimble around the house, while missing out on some of the futuristic features found on pricier models, like the laser-equipped motorhead and particle-counting sensors.
At the heart of the V8 Advanced is the Dyson digital V8 motor, which spins at up to 110,000 rpm and produces up to 130 Air Watts of suction — enough to tackle both carpet and hard floors without feeling underpowered. The machine uses Dyson’s cyclonic engineering design that promises to keep airflow and suction consistent as the bin fills.
Dyson fits the V8 with an advanced six-cell lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 40 minutes of fade-free run time on the standard (non-motorised) cleaner head — ample for a full quick-around-the-house session.
There are two power modes: the everyday (Eco/Power) mode for balanced cleaning and MAX mode for short, intensive spot cleans. Charging takes around 5 hours. And as you'd expect, runtime drops when using motorised attachments or MAX mode.
