The supermarket chain released a new battery-powered video doorbell to watch the front area of your home while you're away, and it's only £16.99.
Compared to other video doorbell brands like Ring, Blink, and Google's Nest devices, Aldi has been able to undercut their prices significantly. For instance, an entry-level doorbell from Ring will set you back £49.99, whereas their more premium models can cost up to £179.99.
A video doorbell is worth considering if you want to improve your home’s security and gain more convenience around your front door. It especially makes sense if you aren’t at home often, get a lot of deliveries, or simply want to feel more in control of who’s at your door.
Despite Aldi's extremely low price, there are several features worth noting.

This means you won't face any monthly subscription fees to access your stored footage. This is quite different from Ring's approach, where you'll pay between £4.99 and £15.99 monthly for their subscription plans. Even with those fees, Ring only keeps your video history in the cloud for up to 180 days before it disappears.
The doorbell comes with several other features for everyday use, too. You'll get two-way talking, which lets you chat with visitors through your phone via an app, even when you're not home.
The built-in battery also allows for a simpler setup with no wiring required.
