Dutch speed skating icon Marianne Timmer has alleged that security personnel accompanying Snoop Dogg shoved her against a wall during an altercation at the Winter Olympics in Milan on Wednesday.

The incident reportedly occurred as the 54-year-old American rapper was being escorted from the packed Milano Speed Skating Stadium following the 1,000m event.

Timmer, a celebrated figure in Dutch skating, claims she was waiting to conduct interviews with athletes when the confrontation took place.

Snoop Dogg is currently serving dual roles at the Games, acting as Team USA's honorary coach whilst also working as a broadcaster for NBC, having previously covered the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics for the American network.

Speaking to Dutch outlet Sportnieuws, Timmer described the encounter in detail: "I was standing against a wall, and one of the security guards pushed me even closer.

"I said, 'Just act normal', it's a really wide hall, about four metres. But then the guy came back and I said, 'What? Do I have to go through that wall or something?'"

The former Olympic champion said the guard then returned and became aggressive towards her.

"He came back and started acting all up against me," she continued.

"Then I said something mean back: 'I'm not here waiting for Snoop Dogg, I'm waiting for Jennings de Boo. We want to see Joep (Wennermars), we want to talk to Kjeld (Nuis) for a moment'."

Timmer also suggested the security team had displayed a pattern of aggressive behaviour during the Games.

"We saw a Dutchman being roughly escorted away from the stands by some very large security guards," she added.

"I could just picture myself being grabbed by the neck and thrown out. That would have been a great story."

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced Snoop Dogg's appointment as honorary coach in December, describing it as a volunteer position focused on celebrating American athletes away from competition.

Dubbed "Coach Snoop", the rapper has thrown himself into the role enthusiastically, going viral after attempting curling and sledding down slopes earlier this week.

He also carried the Olympic flame through Gallarate last week.

The rapper's Olympic involvement is believed to be highly lucrative, with reports suggesting he earned approximately £393,000 daily for his NBC broadcasting work during the Paris 2024 Games.

German publication BILD reported that an NBC employee indicated his total earnings for that summer's Olympics could have reached £11.78 million, with additional bonuses tied to television ratings.

Given his expanded responsibilities in Milan, combining both broadcasting and his official Team USA role, his compensation for the Winter Games may have increased substantially.

When his honorary position was revealed, Snoop Dogg stated: "Team USA athletes are the real stars - I'm just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines."
