John McEnroe has surprisingly been tipped as an option for Novak Djokovic's next coach, however Andy Roddick believes the Serbian will need to go for someone he's more familiar with in the short term.
Djokovic announced earlier this week his shock split with Goran Ivanisevic after years of working together that yielded 12 Grand Slam titles for the 37-year-old.
The Serbian tennis icon has been going through a rough patch to start the 2024 season and his decision to change his coaching team leaves him little time to find a replacement before the French Open.
Roddick has suggested it wouldn't be a complete surprise if Djokovic goes back to Marian Vajda, who has coached the 24-time Grand Slam champion in two separate spells.

John Lloyd raised eyebrows this week by naming McEnroe as someone who could give Djokovic what he wants.
However, Roddick feels Djokovic will more than likely go with something familiar to him with Roland Garros just a few weeks away.
"I was surprised," Roddick said on Tennis Channel.
"You don't look to make moves in April. You have to think this was a surprise to both of them.
"There had to be something to kind of set this in motion midseason.
"Djokovic has kind of turned over his entire team from his management now Ivanisevic.
"I'll be curious to see who he goes to next.
"It seems he always ends back up with Vijda when something like this happens, that's happened a couple times.

"But Novak can only take opinions from certain amount of people on earth. That's why he went with Becker, that's why he goes with Goran."
Roddick admitted he wasn't sure who would be the right fit to come in as Djokovic's next coach, although the American thinks it will be someone he has worked with before.
He added: "It would be hard for me to think of someone 37 years of old goes with an entirely new scenario.

"You're on a short-ish timeline going into Roland Garros so my instinct is that he goes back into something that is known.
"I'll be surprised if six-eight weeks out from Roland Garros he starts an entirely new relationship.
"I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again but I'll be surprised if it's completely new."
