The 23-year-old triumphed at the All England Club on Sunday

Jannik Sinner has fired a warning to his team, insisting they'll have a 'target' on their backs following his Wimbledon triumph on Sunday.

The 23-year-old beat Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to secure his first major on grass after producing a sublime performance at the All England Club.

Sinner now has four Grand Slam titles to his name, having previously won the Australian Open twice - as well as the US Open last year.

Speaking after the contest, however, he warned his team that other players on the tour will be eager to reel them in.

“I keep looking up to Carlos because even today I felt like he was doing a couple of things better than I didl," he said.

"So that's something where we will work on and prepare ourselves you know, because he's going to come for us again.

"And there's not only Carlos but everyone you know, so have a big target on us. So we have to be prepared and then we see what's happening in the future.”

Sinner had gone into this year's Wimbledon with a point to prove.

He was two sets up against Alcaraz in last month's French Open final but ended up throwing the contest away in agonising circumstances.

Sinner admits that it was 'important' for him to close out the Wimbledon final in order to avoid a repeat of that result.

“It is important for sure. Because you know when you lose several times against someone it is not easy," he admitted.

"But at the same time in the past, I felt that I was very close.

"If you watch all matchups you know, starting (with) Beijing in the third round, then (in) Rome, I had a set point in the first set, but I couldn't use it, then in Paris what happened.

"But I felt close, you know and I never pushed myself down.”

Speaking on court, Sinner also thanked his inner circle for helping him respond in such emphatic fashion.

He stated: "It's so special for me. Seeing my parents, brother, my whole team here, it's amazing.

"Emotionally, I had a very tough loss in Paris, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter how you win or lose.

"You have to understand what you did wrong, accept the loss and keep working.

"I'm so grateful I'm healthy and have great people around me.

"Any moment can change the match, so I'm so happy I held my nerve.

"Me and my team said before the match we never thought I would be here when I was young. It was a dream of the dream because it was so far away.

"I'm living my dream."
