The Team GB icon tied the knot on Saturday

Adam Peaty's former partner Eirianedd Munro has reportedly branded the Olympic swimmer "hypocritical" following his decision to adopt a double-barrelled surname after marrying Holly Ramsay.

The 31-year-old athlete and his 25-year-old bride exchanged vows at Bath Abbey on Saturday, subsequently changing their name to Ramsay Peaty.

Sources claim Munro, 27, was particularly stung by the move given that Peaty had previously rejected her suggestion to give their son George both parents' surnames when he was born in 2020.

"It feels a bit rich to Eiri that Adam has been quick to change his name but didn't allow her the same right for their son," an insider told The Sun.

The couple separated in 2022, nine months following Peaty's appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite the ongoing tensions with his family, the newlyweds chose to incorporate the Peaty name into their new double-barrelled surname.

The ceremony took place before approximately 200 guests, though notably absent were members of the groom's side of the family.

Adam's sister Bethany was the sole representative from his family, serving as a bridesmaid at the wedding.

Reports suggest his father Mark received a late invitation but was informed he would need to sit at the rear of the venue, positioned behind plus-ones.

The family division became increasingly apparent after Adam withdrew invitations to his relatives, while his mother Caroline was excluded from Holly's hen celebration at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, where Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham were among the guests.

Gordon Ramsay reportedly used his father of the bride speech to take aim at his new son-in-law's absent parents.

The celebrity chef, 59, allegedly told the newlyweds that his wife Tana "will be a good mum to them both," according to The Sun.

During his address, Ramsay reportedly complimented Holly's appearance and told Peaty he was a "lucky man," adding: "Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to."

The publication claims he then directed a pointed remark at his daughter regarding her in-laws: "Shame you don't have the same."

Reports also suggest Peaty has blocked his family members from contacting him via messages.

An insider indicated that while the surname change may upset Caroline and Mark, "it's not intentional" and Peaty simply followed his wife's preference for a double-barrelled name.

Caroline Peaty, watching from the family's council house in Staffordshire more than 130 miles away, was reportedly "beside herself" with grief at missing her son's wedding.

The 59-year-old, who spent years driving Adam to early morning training sessions, told the Mail on Sunday: "I'm not going to be hurt like this again."

She had previously stated that Holly and Adam "have cut my heart out."

Moments before the groom entered the abbey holding George's hand, he reportedly received a text from his aunt Louise, who was also excluded from the celebration.

"I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still," the text message reportedly said.

"Shame on you both. Shame."
