The Englishman has ventured into new territory

Justin Rose has officially joined McLaren Golf, becoming the Formula One giant's first global ambassador and taking an equity stake in the fledgling equipment venture.

The 45-year-old Englishman, currently ranked fifth in the world, will put McLaren clubs into play for the first time at this week's Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral in Miami.

It's a move that ends Rose's lengthy spell as an equipment free agent.

The timing couldn't be more fitting — McLaren Golf's official launch on Wednesday coincides with the Miami Grand Prix, bringing together the brand's motorsport heritage and its ambitious new golf venture.

This partnership goes far beyond a typical endorsement deal, though.

Rose has been deeply embedded in McLaren Golf's journey from the very start, spending nearly two years working alongside the brand's engineering team.

He's tested countless prototypes, offered detailed performance feedback, and served as an athlete advisor to the board.

It's been a hands-on collaboration that helped shape what will become McLaren Golf's first generation of equipment.

"From the beginning, this has been a passion project," Rose said. "I've had the opportunity to be involved from the outset — working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they've become."

Rose arrives in Miami in brilliant form, which makes this debut all the more exciting.

Earlier this season, he claimed victory at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines — his 13th PGA Tour title — and followed that up with a top-three finish at The Masters just recently.

The numbers back it up, too.

Rose currently leads the PGA Tour in Greens in Regulation and sits among the top ten in Strokes Gained: Approach.

It's the kind of form that makes him the perfect player to showcase McLaren's new equipment on golf's biggest stage.

Rose's connection to McLaren runs deep on a personal level, too.

He's been friends with McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown for years and regularly hits the links with Lando Norris, the reigning Formula 1 world champion.

It's a relationship that made this partnership feel natural.

"That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me," Rose added. "I'm excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish."

On the course this week, Rose will carry McLaren's distinctive papaya-coloured staff bag and sport the brand's logo on his chest.
