The American president has revealed he will be present for the initial day of competition at the 2025 Ryder Cup, scheduled for Friday at Bethpage Black in New York.
Donald Trump announced his plans to attend whilst endorsing Team USA captain Keegan Bradley's potential selection of himself as a competitor, which would mark the first instance of a playing captain since Arnold Palmer fulfilled both roles in 1963.
The president disclosed his attendance through a post on Truth Social, stating he had accepted an invitation from the PGA Tour to be present on "Tournament Friday."

Trump's endorsement came via his social media platform, where he declared: "Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team - As Captain!!! He is an AMAZING guy."
The president added: "It will be a great Ryder Cup," whilst confirming his Friday attendance.

His public support arrives as Bradley contemplates whether to include himself amongst the six captain's selections he must announce on Wednesday, 27 August.
Should the Team USA captain opt for self-selection, he would become the first American to compete whilst captaining since Palmer achieved the feat 62 years ago.
Bradley secured his eighth PGA Tour victory at the Travelers Championship in June and currently holds the 13th position in world rankings.
The 39-year-old finished 11th in the qualification standings for his own team and enters the Tour Championship's final round three strokes behind co-leaders Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood.
Speaking before the Atlanta tournament, Bradley acknowledged the difficulty of his decision, saying: "To be honest, I feel like I'm still one of the best players in the world."
He added: "It would be easier if I was top six or way out of it."
Bradley's last Ryder Cup appearances came in 2012 and 2014, with Europe victorious on both occasions.

Trump's appearance at the New York venue is anticipated to amplify the already fervent home support, as the United States attempts to reclaim the trophy they surrendered to Europe in Rome during 2023.
The president's attendance could transform the atmosphere from boisterous to thunderous, particularly given his vocal support for Bradley's potential dual role.
America has managed just two victories in the past seven Ryder Cup encounters against Europe.
The first six American team members were confirmed following the BMW Championship, with Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Harris English, Russell Henley and Bryson DeChambeau securing automatic qualification.
