The BBC has lost the broadcasting rights to the Commonwealth Games for the first time in more than 70 years.
TNT Sports has secured exclusive live coverage of the competition, while Channel 5 will provide free-to-air highlights rather than the national broadcaster.
The arrangement brings to a close 76 continuous years of BBC coverage, stretching back to 1950.
Warner Bros Discovery-owned TNT Sports will deliver approximately 600 hours of live action across the 11-day competition.
The games in Glasgow will mark a historic occasion as the first Commonwealth Games since Queen Elizabeth II's death and King Charles III's assumption of the role of Commonwealth head.
Though the Commonwealth Games' profile has diminished somewhat in recent years, the loss of such a longstanding broadcasting relationship is another blow to the BBC.
Ben Frow, Channel 5's chief content officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying: "The Commonwealth Games is one of the standout events in a fantastic summer of sport this year.
"Here at 5, we're delighted to be working with TNT Sports to bring the biggest sports stars to a free-to-air audience in the UK."

A spokesman for the BBC said: "The BBC has been proud to broadcast the Commonwealth Games over many years, but our bid was unable to match the financial offer from the market.
"We wish them every success for next year."
Some 3,000 athletes representing 74 nations and territories will descend on Britain for the competition.

Among the prominent British competitors expected in Glasgow are swimmer Adam Peaty, middle-distance runner Josh Kerr, and sprinters Amy Hunt and Dina Asher-Smith.
Despite losing the Commonwealth Games, the BBC has invested elsewhere, acquiring Bundesliga football, Women's Champions League and World Cup qualifier rights.
It also retained Six Nations rugby coverage and shared Wimbledon broadcasts with TNT Sports.
Part of the BBC's World Cup coverage will see it miss the half-time performance at the competition's final on TV.

| PAThe BBC and ITV have opted to only show the production through their digital platforms.
Rather than broadcasting the musical performances during the main television coverage, the corporation intends to maintain its traditional approach of having pundits analyse the opening 45 minutes.
Alan Shearer, Cesar Azpilicueta, Olivier Giroud and Wayne Rooney will be among those providing expert analysis for viewers.
Whilst no definitive decision has been confirmed, those wishing to view the show will likely need to access BBC digital services instead.
