Spurs lost 2-1 on Saturday night to pile the pressure on their manager

Tottenham fans have furiously called for Thomas Frank to be sacked, with the club's woes at home worsening with a 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Saturday night.

Spurs had gone into the game hoping to return to winning ways after drawing with Manchester United and losing to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain this month.

But Tottenham's poor home record continued on Saturday, with goals from Kenny Tete and Harry Wilson giving the Cottagers all three points despite a superb consolation from Mohammed Kudus.

Tete's effort came in the fourth minute, with the 30-year-old's deflected strike from the edge of the box giving Guglielmo Vicario no chance between the sticks.

Fulham's second goal, however, was easily avoidable.

Vicario found himself marauding out of his area, leaving his goal exposed, with the goalkeeper unable to clear his lines.

His poor attempt at kicking the ball up the field fell to Josh King, with the Fulham star passing to Wilson - who was able to strike the ball into an empty net.

Tottenham sought an equaliser, with the mood inside the ground turning increasingly sour. Players were booed off at half-time, while jeers were also audible at the full-time whistle.

Frank arrived with a big reputation given everything he achieved at Brentford but, so far, his time in the dugout has failed to live up to expectations.

And Tottenham fans have taken to social media express their dismay, with many calling for Frank to be relieved of his duties.

"Frank out. Needs sacking at half-time. Completely and utterly out of his depth. It's so painfully obvious that he isn't the right fit and we should sack him now," were the furious words of one user.

A second echoed those sentiments, writing: "Totally out of his depth. You can sack Ange but not replace him with Frank."

Another raged: "Frank is clueless. Team selection is horrible. We excessively depend on set pieces to score. We are unable to create meaningful chances from open play. The only discernible strategy is to keep crossing into the box and hoping Richarlison converts with a header. Sack him."

A fourth hit out by saying: "Frank definitely thinks he’s a masterful tactician and communicator but neither on display at Spurs. Lack any creativity or structure and have done for numerous games. Sack him."

And a fifth fumed: "Frank cannot galvanise these players. Look at the way they are walking off. They know they are going nowhere under this manager. For the love of God please sack this guy, he isn't doing worse than Ange and that takes some doing!"

Tottenham, for now, are likely to stick rather than twist.

But pressure is mounting on Frank, with the Dane failing to improve the team since his high-profile appointment back in the summer.

While it was a chastening night at the office for Spurs, however, it was a much-needed win for Fulham.

The Cottagers have struggled for consistency this term, with Marco Silva's men finding them sucked into a battle for survival.

This win, however, will certainly boost their chances of staying in the top-flight.

Tottenham will be aiming to bounce back when they face Newcastle on Tuesday night (8.15pm).

As for Fulham, their next match is against Manchester City that same night (7.30pm).
