Arsenal are through to the Champions League final after victory over Atletico Madrid

Thierry Henry couldn't help himself during Bukayo Saka's post-match interview on CBS Sports, stepping in to deliver a heartfelt message to the Arsenal winger.

The Gunners legend watched on as his former club secured their spot in the Champions League final for the first time in two decades, beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate.

Henry was part of the Arsenal side that fell short against Barcelona in the 2006 final, and the emotion of the moment clearly got to him.

"I just want to say something, please," Henry interjected during Saka's interview. "I wish you all the best, because we couldn't do it."

Henry went on to paint a picture of what this current squad could achieve if they go all the way.

"I know, I will repeat it myself, I want that name to stay," he continued.

"If you guys do it, if you manage to do it and you go on to win the title also - I don't want to jinx anything, we're still not there, I will stay in my lane - you guys will be known as the Unforgettables."

The Arsenal legend drew a direct comparison to his own legendary squad, adding: "We were the Invincibles. You go and get it."

Saka was visibly moved by the tribute, simply responding: "Thank you, man. Thank you."

The goal that sent Arsenal through came from a player who had barely trained in the build-up to the match.

Saka had been sidelined for five games with an Achilles injury, and Henry revealed the pair had spoken during his recovery.

The winger's determination to return was unwavering, with Henry explaining: "He came back, I spoke to him and he came back and was like: 'I've got to be on the pitch. I've got to be on the pitch against Fulham. I have to be. It's do or die'."

Henry urged fans to appreciate what players sacrifice, noting that Saka had faced questions all season about whether he could be Arsenal's main man.

Henry also had warm words for Viktor Gyokeres, who terrorised the Atletico defence despite missing a clear chance in the second half.

"The jury was out on him," Henry admitted. "It's not a bad thing. Embrace it. Try to prove people wrong. Tonight he did."

The Arsenal legend praised how the team plays to the Swedish striker's strengths, making him look "more like a number nine that you can be scared of."

Mikel Arteta was equally effusive about his players, calling Gyokeres "immense" and describing Saka as "very special" to everyone at the club.

"If it had to be someone scoring that goal, it probably had to be him," the manager said.
