Kylian Mbappe is officially a Real Madrid player after signing a blockbuster deal with the Bernabeu outfit.

Real Madrid have finally confirmed Kylian Mbappe as a Los Blancos player to end one of the longest transfer sagas in football history.

The Frenchman's contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of the month.

A verbal agreement has been in place between Mbappe and Real since earlier this year, but not it's official that he will join the Spanish side on July 1.

Real's statement read: "Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons."

Mbappe's move to the Bernabeu ends Real's seven-year hunt to try and sign the talented Frenchman.

The forward was first linked with a move to Real back in July 2017 after he burst onto the scene and helped Monaco win Ligue 1.

PSG beat Real to the signing of Mbappe that summer as the French giants flexed their financial muscles.

In the following years, Real made no secret of their desire to steal Mbappe away from PSG.

In 2021, Florentino Perez tabled a huge offer to try and prise the striker away from Paris, but the bid was rejected.

Mbappe then surprisingly signed a new contract with the Ligue 1 side in 2022 which made him one of the wealthiest sports stars on the planet as well as giving him unprecedented power at the club.

That move appeared to cool Real's interest in Mbappe, but things began to turn sour in the French capital as the attacker grew frustrated at the club's transfer business.

The France international informed PSG he would not be triggering his option for a one-year extension 12 months ago, putting Real back in the frame to snap up their top transfer target for free.

Other clubs around Europe had shown an interest, but Real were seemingly always at the front of the queue and the signing has now been confirmed.

Mbappe joins on a five-year contract and he will reportedly receive a £128m signing-on bonus to be paid over the duration of his deal.
