Chelsea star Moises Caicedo has received a straight red card for a horror tackle on Mikel Merino during Sunday's Premier League clash with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
The Ecuador international lunged in with his studs showing, with both players then lying injured on the turf.
Caicedo was initially shown a yellow, with the former Brighton star looking surprised.
However, after officials in the VAR studio called on referee Jonathan Moss to go to the monitor, the decision was then upgraded to a red.

Caicedo was seen pleading his innocence, with the former Brighton star adamant that he should have been allowed to stay on the pitch.
Contrastingly, Arsenal staff sitting in the dugout were livid - with Mikel Arteta leading the calls for the Chelsea midfielder to be sent off.
In the end, Moss decided to upgrade his decision - and pundits working for the BBC and Sky Sports were adamant it was the right call.

Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin said: "I was watching the Copa Libertadores final last night, there was a very similar challenge and I couldn't believe the referee didn't go for the red card.
"We thought he had got away with one there - but he was out of control, the ball was miles away and the challenge was awful.
"Something like that could break your ankle."

And former Arsenal star Alan Smith said on Sky: "He's been so fired up out there, as if he's wanted to prove a point, maybe win that battle with Declan Rice.
"He's been all over the shop making tackles, but that was the worst and a dangerous one."
Caicedo even attempted to storm onto the pitch, with the fourth official forced to intervene and send him down the tunnel.

The Gunners have been nothing short of sensational all season long and have beaten Tottenham and Bayern Munich already this week.
Only time will tell whether they're able to capitalise on Caicedo's dismissal and secure all three points at the home of their fierce rivals.
